Battle Abbey and Battlefield 

1066 must be one of the most familiar dates in English history. Visit the place where it all happened. grounds and ruins of the Benedictine abbey, founded by William the Conqueror on the battlefield, with an exhibition about the Battle of Hastings. William the Conqueror landed at Pevensey, beat King Harold at the battle of Hastings and the town of Battle and its abbey commemorate his victory

Brighton Dome

Once the stables and riding school of the Prince Regent, now part of the famous Royal Pavilion Estate. It was later converted into a Concert Hall in 1866 and became the most fashionable and culturally significant venue in the south. It was restored again in 1935 with a resplendent art-deco interior, and showcased some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment, including Paul Robeson and Richard Tauber in its 1930s opening season. Now following it’s grand re-launch in 2002 the biggest names are back at the Dome crossing all art forms from to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa to Lou Reed.

Seven Sisters Sheep Centre

Voted ’Sussex Family Attraction of the Year’ by the Good Britain Guide 2002

Nestling at the foot of the South Downs just 1 mile from Beachy Head, housed in an historic 17th Century flint barn. It has probably the largest collection of sheep in the world, including many older breeds no longer seen on modern farms. There are lots of young farm animals, including pigs, goats, calves, rabbits and chicks both outside and under cover to feed and cuddle, with easy access from paved walkways. There are also demonstrations in the summer - you can watch sheep milking, cheese making, shearing and spinning, as well as all kinds of crafts demonstrated by visiting craftspeople. You can enjoy a tasty homemade snack in the Hay rack Tearoom or take advantage of our picnic facilities - and why not browse the farm shop with a wide range of sheepy gifts and prize winning yogurts and cheeses to take home?
