Biddenden Vineyards & Cider
Works
Biddenden Vineyards, located 1.5 miles from the old Wealden village of Biddenden, legendary
home of the Biddenden Maids, is Kent’s oldest commercial vineyard. Enjoy a tranquil walk through 22 acres of
vines, visit the winery and shop, containing a 17th century cider press, and sample our line English wines,

Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction

Dickens
World
One of the newest visitor attractions in Southeast England is Dickens World at Chatham in Kent which opened in May
2007. Its a £62 million indoor theme park complex based around the life, times and stories of one of Britain’s
greatest authors Charles Dickens.
The centre
includes mockups and recreations of Victorian buildings with atmospheric cobbled streets, alleys, courtyards, shops
and a dockside, along with costumed characters, shop keepers and street

The Old Lighthouse

South Foreland Lighthouse
The highlight of the White Cliffs. This distinctive landmark is perched high up on the White
Cliffs overlooking the Straits of Dover. Built in 1843 the lighthouse was used by Marconi just over 100 years
ago for early radio experiments. From here he made the World’s first ship to shore and subsequently the first
international radio transmission to Wimereux in France. Learn about the history of the tower and the people
associated with it in a tour that takes about 30 minutes. Combine your visit with the Gateway to the White
Cliffs nearby and learn about what is special and the significance of the cliffs in a relaxing coffee shop
atmosphere.
