Bristol Blue Glass
The factory is based in the heart of Bristol. It is open to the general public all year round
with free entry. You can watch Bristol blue glass being made by the skilled team of glassmakers and
purchase directly form the factory shop. Now features a brand new visitor centre, open 7 days a week all year
round.

Bristol University Botanic
Garden
The University Botanic Garden cultivates some 4,500 plant species from over 200 plant families within its five acre
site. This diversity of plants is unique and not found elsewhere in the Bristol area. Special collections
include:rare native and threatened plants of the South West, Chinese Medicinal Herb Garden, South African and New
Zealand collections, plus many plants cultivated under glass

The only camera obscura open to the public in England. Also, a natural cave reached from the
observatory through a tunnel under the Downs. At the cave mouth, a view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and
Avon Gorge.

Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitors Centre
The world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by the great Victorian engineer
Isambard Kingdom Brunel, although he never lived to see his creation finished. Its spectacular setting on the
cliffs of the Avon Gorge have made it the symbol of Bristol, drawing thousands of vistors a year just to
stroll across for views of the gorge and elegant Clifton.

Emmaus House
Award winning gardens with a variety of features. The upper gardens include a rose terrace and
a formal herb garden with fountain leading to a zen garden. From here one can escape to the secret garden.
Old stone steps take you to the Victorian garden, growing fruit and vegetables and a courtyard garden with
evidence of stabling and early 19th century cobbles.

Horseworld
Horseworld is the South West’s premier equine welfare charity. Enjoy a great day out
at the Visitor centre for all the family. Meet and greet the rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and support
equine welfare work. Visit the interactive Museum of the Horse, Heritage Tack Museum, film presentation,

Severn Bridges Visitor Centre
Educational and leisure facilities with an exhibition of boat, rail and road crossings of the
estuary and specifically the building of The Second Severn Crossing in 1996. Nearby is the Severn Beach Sea
Walk with spectacular views of both Severn crossings.

Willsbridge Mill
A wildlife rich valley on the edge of Bristol, with a number of habitats including woodland,
meadow, stream and demonstration wildlife garden. The visitor centre (including a 19th century corn mill
& barn housing an exhibition, shop & cafe) is the base for a year-round environmental education
programme for schools, and events including community arts for the public.

Cabot Tower
The tower was built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot’s voyage from Bristol and the sighting of North America four
hundred years earlier. It has panoramic views from the summit over the heart of Bristol.
