Bernwood Butterfly Trail
Extensive forest paths lead walkers through vast areas of mixed coniferous and broadleaf woodland. Path side
vegetation management has provided the favoured habitats for butterflies and other flora and fauna. Follow the
yellow waymarked path on an hour and a half walk around the forest to discover the variety of habitats to be
found

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is a working steam museum where you can experience the sights, sounds and smells
of the Golden Age of Steam. Take a ride behind a full sized steam engine or on the extensive miniature railway. The
Centre boasts one of the largest collections of steam locomotives, carriages and wagons in the country, ranging
from express passenger engines to the humble shunter, together with a coach from the Royal Train of 1901.

The Bucks Goat Centre
A small, open farm featuring the most comprehensive collection of goat breeds in Britain. Every British breed of
goat, plus a few others, can be seen here. Other friendly farm animals, including pigs, donkeys, reptiles, rabbits

Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway Co Ltd
Runs from
Chinnor Station, close to the beautiful Chiltern Hills and to the Vale of Aylesbury. Originally built in the
1870’s to connect the towns of Watlington in Oxfordshire to Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, the
railway operates the ex Great Western Railway branch line as a tourist attraction for both families and
railway enthusiasts. A regular steam hauled service is provided every Sunday from April to October. Special
events are a feature of the programme including Thomas the Tank Engine weekends and Santa Specials.

Daytona International
This purpose built 11-acre venue combines one of the UK’s longest pro-karting circuits with the ultimate in

The Home of Rest for Horses
Set amongst the rolling Chiltern Hills The Home of Rest for Horses caters for the retirement needs of 125
horses, donkeys and ponies. The Home was originally established back in the 1880s to help the working London
horses. Since those times The Home has developed and is now firmly established at its purpose-built stables near to
High Wycombe and Aylesbury. As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting education and welfare within the equine
world, The Home has become the largest provider of equine welfare grants in the UK.

Lacey Green Windmill
England's oldest smock mill that has wooden machinery thought
to date from around 1650. The name smock mill is derived from the shape of the mill resembling a
farmer's smock. The windmill stands above the Chiltern escarpment in the full force of the south westerly
winds. It was in use until around 1915, but by the late 1960s its condition had deteriorated
very badly, however since 1971 it has been restored back to working order by volunteers from The Chiltern
Society.
