Stowe Landscape Gardens 
One of the first and finest Georgian landscape gardens in Britain.The creation of the Temple
family, Stowe has been described as a ’work to wonder at’ in its size, splendour and variety. It is the
largest, grandest, and most important landscape garden in England, and took over 130 years to create. The
temples and monuments were designed by many of the leading architects of the 18th century, including
Vanbrugh, Gibbs and Kent.

West Wycombe Park, Hill & Village 
The Hill overlooks the village, whose buildings span several hundred years, and offers fine
views of the Chilterns countryside. The Church, Dashwood Mausoleum and caves are not NT though open to the
public. West Wycombe Park is a perfectly preserved rococo landscape garden, created in the mid 18th century
by Sir Francis Dashwood, founder of the Dilettanti Society and the Hellfire Club. The 18th century house is
amongst the most theatrical and Italianate in England with its façade formed as classical temples. The
interior of the house has painted ceilings by Borgnis, pictures, furniture and sculpture dating from Sir
Francis’s time. The garden has contemporary temples (recently highlighted on television) and artificial
lakes. Join one of the guided tours highlighting the fascinating history of West Wycombe Park and the
Dashwood family.

Willen Lakeside Park
More than one million visitors come to Willen Lakeside Park each year to play, picnic, take
