Redhouse Farm (Maize Maze)
Following the foot and mouth crisis, dairy farmers Alan Clare, 49, and his wife Varzie, 37,
saw their income slump and trade severely restricted at their shop at Red House Farm, Dunham Massey. So
tenant farmer Alan and his wife have opened Britain's first Maize Maze to lure people back to the
countryside. Visitors can wander around seven acres of growing maize at Red House Lane. They have to carry a
flag with them so they can be spotted from outside among the 7ft-high crop.
