Portchester Castle 
A stone keep and bailey fortress, built in one corner of the Roman fort of Portus Adurni.
The tall Norman keep stands at the angle of the fort, with a square gatehouse and one square tower flanking
the curtain wall.

Southsea Castle
Once upon a time the city was threatened by attack from the sea. Henry VIII ordered that
Southsea Castle be built to defend Portsmouth and it harbour. Since then the Castle has been guarding the
city for over 400 years

Wolvesey Castle (Old Bishop's Palace) 
One of the greatest medieval buildings in England, the palace was the chief residence of the
Bishops of Winchester. Its extensive ruins still reflect their importance and wealth. The last great occasion
at Wolvesey was on 25 July 1554, when Queen Mary and Philip of Spain held their wedding breakfast in the East
Hall.
