The Lancashire Queens Regiment Museum
Tells the story of the Lancashire Lads who came to from Preston and the towns of Lancashire to
serve in their regiment and still do to this day. The extensive regimental collections, archive and library combine
to produce the largest military heritage centre in the North West. Hear the compelling story of the Lancashire
soldier and what he achieved is lavishly illustrated and warmly told. This research and education centre is located
in Fulwood Barracks which are still in use by the British Army today. Admission Free.

The Museum of Lancashire
Offers a real family day out. Housed in Preston’s Old Court House the museum allows you to
experience days gone by. Take a stroll along a 1940’s street, take cover in the Anderson shelter when you hear the
air raid siren and watch out for the unexploded bomb! Learn about the role of women during the war, ration books
and evacuation. Sit in a Victorian classroom or experience life under gunfire as a world war to solider in the
frontline trenches.
In addition to a programme of touring and temporary exhibitions there are also special holiday events and family
days that will both inform and entertain.

Lancaster Maritime Museum
The former Custom House of 1764, designed by Richard Gillow, contains displays on the history of the Port of
Lancaster and the local fishing industry, with a gallery for exhibitions.
In the adjacent warehouse are displays on the Lancaster Canal and the ecology of Morecambe Bay. Several
preserved vessels are also displayed, including 'Sir William Priestley' and 'Coronation Rose'.

Turton Tower
The period rooms display a magnificent collection of decorative woodwork, paintings and furniture, including items
loaned form the Victoria and Albert Museum. The surrounding gardens offer further interest with Victorian follies,

Toy and Teddy Bear Museum
Situated in Lytham St Annes, it houses toys from the past and childhood memorabilia. Treasures include model
trains, cars, games, books, an extensive collection of dolls and dolls houses, children's costumes and a superb
collection of children's photographs. The Museum is open at Easter, May Bank Holiday and Spring Bank until
October.
