Doncaster Racecourse

Doncaster Racecourse is where tradition and excellence meet. Graves Park Animal Farm

Old Moor Wetland Centre

A RSPB  250-acre nature reserve in South Yorkshire’s Dearne Valley. Up to 8,000 golden plovers and 2000 lapwings provide a winter wildlife spectacle and the Dearne Valley is an important area for breeding and passage wading birds and wintering wildfowl. It also has a 250+ colony of tree sparrows. A mix of habitats includes open water, marsh, reedbeds and grassland.

Peak District National Park
 
Situated in the heart of England and covering part of six counties, the Peak District National Park lies at the southern end of the Pennine Hills just five miles from Sheffield City Centre. One third of Sheffield lies within its boundaries and visitors to the west of the city will see how easily the city nestles into the gently rolling moors and rugged peaks. Thrybergh Country Park

There are level walks around the lake and electric scooters can be hired from the visitors' centre. There is a cafe and picnic/barbecue area, visitors' centre, souvenir shop, children's adventure playground.  Also, there are bird-watching hides - the last time we walked here the banks around the lake were home to loads of sand-martins much given to dive-bombing all and sundry.

Wortley Top Forge

A Water Powered Iron Forge whose history can be traced back to 1640. The site has been used for various processes but it is best known for the Wrought Iron Railway Axles that were produced between 1840 and production stopping around 1910 and is acknowledged as being the oldest surviving Heavy Iron Forge in the World

Birley Spa

A hidden historic and architectural gem in a tiny secluded ravine. It is the only remaining Victorian Spa in the north of England. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the bathhouse and the wooded grounds are open all year long.
