Birmingham Cathedral

At the heart of the city, this fine 18th century English Baroque parish church by Thomas Archer, with its famous stained glass by Burne-Jones, became the cathedral for the new Diocese of Birmingham in 1905. The popular churchyard, beautifully restored in 2000-2001, has a perimeter of cast-iron railings, with a double row of plane trees

Coventry Cathedral

This cathedral combines the ruins of the "old" 14th century building destroyed by firebombs in 1940, with the "new" cathedral that rises from the ashes. The new cathedral provides a rare opportunity to see major works by prominent 20th century artists
