Abbey House Museum
A museum for over 70 years Abbey House is full of memories and surprises. From the mid to late
1950’s a set of Victorian Streets were constructed and the Museum began to rescue items from old shops,
warehouses and ‘street life’.

Armley Mills, Leeds Industrial Museum
Exhibits dating from the 18th and 19th centuries show the history of textiles, clothing and
engine and locomotive manufacture in the area. The museum also illustrates the history of cinema projections,
including the first moving pictures taken in Leeds,

Beck Isle Museum
Containing a comprehensive collection of objects covering the last 200 years with something
for all the family. The collection aims to reflect local life and customs and to trace many of the
developments in social and domestic life over the period and includes an extensive display of photographs

Bradford Industrial Museum & Horses at Work
Original Victorian worsted spinning mill complex built in 1875, now used to recreate life in
Bradford at the turn of the 19th century. Mill stables complete with working horses, horse bus/tram rides,
daily demonstrations, and mill owner's house, back to back cottages and shop. Picnic area.

Cartwright Hall
Built in 1904 as an art gallery in the Baroque style. Collections consist of 19th and 20th
century British art with a notable collection of international contemporary South Asian Art. Also
incorporates Indian silver and Islamic calligraphy and textiles

Cliffe Castle Museum
Built 1875 - 1882 as a millionaire's mansion, it opened as the Museum, set in an attractive
park, in an attractive park, in 1959. It houses displays of local fossils and geology; crystals and
minerals; natural history; local bygones, stained glass, pottery; furnished Victorian rooms; temporary
exhibitions.

Colne Valley Museum
A former hand weavers' cottages and the working life of the mid-1800's at the Colne Valley

Horsforth Museum
Horsforth, once described as the largest village in England, has somehow managed to retain
some of its village identity and character in spite of being absorbed into the urban sprawl of Leeds. The
museum aims to reflect this heritage through exhibitions drawn from all aspects of life in and around
Horsforth village. Housed in the former council chambers it has an atmosphere and friendliness only to be
found in a committed local history museum

Ilkley Toy Museum
The museum contains one of the finest private collections of toys in the North of England with
a particularly fine display of early English wooden dolls. The many exhibits feature dolls, dolls
houses,teddy bears, tin plate toys, lead figures and a selection of games together with wooden and paper
toys. Dating from 350BC to the present day the exhibits include a working model fairground.

Keighley Bus Museum
A collection of over fifty buses and coaches dating from 1927 to the late 1970's. Many have
been restored; others can be seen under restoration. Buses operate at many special events throughout the

Manor House Art Gallery and Museum
